I'm a University Lecturer in English and the author of a novel, The Secret of Hurricanes (MacAdam/Cage 2002). My life is summed up by Rumi, who said: "My story gets told in various ways: a romance, a dirty joke, a war, a vacancy." Rumi's quote is the epigraph to Hurricanes. Haiku #229
Old Tibetan flag... race in the wind little strings each a silent prayer
Thanks, Gretchen. When I looked through the viewfinder I was shocked at how clearly visible the strings were! These flags have been up around our porch for two years. My friend Beth gave them to me. I almost talked about that in the post but then I thought I'd just let it stand on its own.
