I had to compose this one quickly because my day is really full and goes on into the night. This is my second poem for the Poem-A-Day (PAD) Challenge
EDVARD MUNCH'S "PUBERTY"
She
sits on the edge
of a bed, her arms
hiding her nakedness,
her body slight,
pink root,
thing to be eaten,
neither woman nor
child,
human without
a way back
home.
