THE REAL THING: Writing is a Strange Adventure III

This is one of my favorite video clips that I made with the Imaginative Writing class this semester. They considered the questions: What kind of writer am I and Why do I write?

Fine.

Just make me want to move then.

If I lived within commuting distance I would soooooo take one of your classes, even if I had to just beg to audit it.

I write to feel your skin brush against mine.

I enjoyed this video. I write for therapeutic reasons. I love capturing my daily life in words. Take care and I will stop in again soon!

Your students are so lucky in having you along with them on this adventure! These videos are a wonderful project. Thanks for sharing them here.

I think this video is my favorite, too!

I write to remember sensations, moods, thoughts, and feelings. I write to find truths. I write to make children laugh and think.

How beautiful your students are and lucky we all found you.
Why I write? Great assignment. There's a poem, project lurking somewhere. Thanks!
Good luck with the new pup, novel, videos, summer. Sounds like your world is in full bloom.

We are/were lucky to have Theresa as a prof. The video was just as much fun as it looks.

And a great exercise for all of us... we learned just as much about ourselves as we did about each other.

oh! This is perfect and achingly beautiful. Young and strong, and maybe a little unsure.... and on the cusp of diving into a creative adventure that lasts a lifetime.

Welcome to the artistry of LIVING your life out loud each and every day. Theresa, thank you for sharing this with all of us.

They all look like spectacularly wonderful human beings.

Theresa,
I think it was very important that I stopped here today. The hunger & happiness displayed by your class helps me get re-oriented. It`s been a tough 8 months, but I`m here.

Love,

"I was no better than dust, yet you cannot replace me. . . Take the soft dust in your hand--does it stir: does it sing? Has it lips and a heart? Does it open its eyes to the sun? Does it run, does it dream, does it burn with a secret, or tremble In terror of death? Or ache with tremendous decisions?. . ." --Conrad Aiken

From the First Chapter

The Secret of Hurricanes : That article in the Waterville Scout said it was Shake- spearean, all that fatalism that guides the Kennedys' lives. The likelihood of untimely death. Recently, another one died in his prime, John-John in an airplane. Not long before that, Bobby's boy. While playing football at high speeds on snow skis. Those Kennedys take some crazy chances. I prefer my own easy ways. Which isn't to say my life hasn't been Shake-spearean. By the time I was sixteen, my life was like the darkened stage at the end of Hamlet or Macbeth. All littered with corpses and treachery.
